Dunnett: Britain will give Ukraine from 30 to 50 tanks

Instead of 12 Challenger 2 tanks, the UK will transfer up to 50 tanks to Ukraine.

Contrary to the reports that the UK will transfer only 12 tanks to Ukraine, from which only a reinforced tank company can be formed, it became known that in reality London plans to transfer up to 50 tanks to Ukraine.

Information about the transfer of such a number of combat vehicles to Ukraine was announced by the head of the General Staff of the British Armed Forces.

“It seems that 12 tanks is too symbolic and I would suggest sending 25 or 30 or even 50, which would have real consequences”, said Richard Dannatt.

The exact number of tanks transferred to Ukraine is supposed to be clarified in the near future. Nevertheless, despite the fact that it is customary to increase supplies, experts note that the allocation of several dozen tanks to Ukraine is unlikely to change the situation for Kyiv, since it was assumed that London could actually transfer up to 100-120 tanks to Ukraine to form full-fledged brigades from tanks of the same type.

It is expected that London will decide on the transfer of Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine by the end of this month, however, the deliveries themselves are unlikely to be possible before March, not to mention the fact that about a month is required to train tank crews.
