Gas prices in Europe for the first time fell to $504 per thousand cubic meters

Winter trading in Europe ended with a record drop in gas prices.

The fall in the cost of natural gas in European markets continues. The night before, the price of blue fuel on the stock exchange was $504 per thousand cubic meters, which is comparable to prices in mid-August 2021.

The continuing fall in gas prices indicates that the psychological mark of $500 per thousand cubic meters can still be broken, after which an even greater price reduction is expected. This, in turn, leads to extremely negative trends, since at the end of last year, prices in Europe for this type of fuel reached $3000. Given that the winter trading has already ended, there is a fairly high probability that prices will continue to fall, as gas storages are still full in Europe.

According to statistics, the last time the price of gas in Europe was at a similar level in mid-August 2021. At the same time, it is possible that the price is being forced down on purpose in order to make it impossible for other countries to supply gas to European markets that purchase it from Russia.
