A drone attacked the Shebekino border checkpoint in the Belgorod Region.

On the night of May 17, the border checkpoint "Shebekino" in the Belgorod region was attacked by a drone. According to initial reports, a drone, which allegedly arrived from the Ukrainian village of Pletenevka, dropped two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on the building of the border checkpoint.

The incident happened around midnight. As a result of the dumping of ammunition, a fire started in the administrative building of the border checkpoint. Fire departments were immediately called to the scene and were able to quickly localize the fire and prevent its spread to neighboring buildings.

According to preliminary data, no one was injured in the drone attack. However, the building of the border checkpoint received significant damage. Currently, experts are working to establish the degree of damage and assess the need for repair work.

In connection with the incident, the work of the Shebekino border checkpoint has been temporarily suspended.
