600 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in October last year made an unsuccessful attempt to recapture the ZNPP.

Last October, according to a report in the British newspaper Times, Ukrainian forces made an unsuccessful attempt to seize the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), which is under Russian control. According to the publication, a group of elite units of about 600 military personnel, armed with heavy machine guns and Mk 19 automatic grenade launchers, participated in the operation.

Officially, Kyiv "did not recognize" the fact of the attack on the ZNPP, however, the participants in the operation, including those from military intelligence and the navy, spoke about this attempt to capture the station. According to one of the Ukrainian officers, a "very dense defense" is organized near the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

On October 37, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian troops had destroyed the Ukrainian landing force, which was trying to capture the ZNPP on 90 boats and boats. Enemy losses amounted to 14 men and XNUMX boats. The remnants of the landing force were dispersed by artillery fire in the waters of the Kakhovka reservoir.

In addition, according to a statement by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the Ukrainian military continues to shell Energodar and the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant adjacent to the city. Shoigu noted that the Kiev regime seeks to create the appearance of a threat of a nuclear catastrophe by continuing to purposefully fire at the ZNPP.
