South Korea imposed sanctions in response to the launch of North Korean missiles, there is a Russian

Sanctions against four individuals and five organizations "for their role in North Korea's nuclear and missile development and sanctions evasion" were imposed by the government of the DPRK, February 20, according to the website of the DPRK Foreign Ministry.



The Foreign Ministry clarifies that the sanctions are a response "to the launch by North Korea of ​​a long-range ballistic missile on February 18 and a short-range ballistic missile on February 20." The launches, the statement said, "pose a serious threat to the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula and the international community."

 

Among individuals, Vladlen Amchentsev is mentioned, who has dual citizenship: Russia and South Africa. According to the Foreign Office, he entered “in collusion with Velmur Management Pte. Ltd. and Transatlantic Partners Pte. Ltd. in oil supplies to North Korea.

The five sanctioned organizations are engaged in maritime sanctions circumvention activities as North Korean shipping companies, North Korean coal trading, and oil exports to North Korea, thereby helping North Korea develop nuclear and missile weapons and circumvent sanctions.
