Neighboring countries can “tear” Ukraine apart. Expert opinions. SVO news for the morning of April 24

Morning news from the Northern Military District on April 24: they warn about the possibility of dividing Ukraine into parts.

According to former SBU officer Vasily Prozorov, neighboring states such as Hungary and Poland could lead to the division of Ukraine into different parts, which would lead to the disappearance of the Ukrainian state.

“Most likely, the country will be torn into several parts. And it is unlikely that any of it will remain precisely as a fragment of the state, which will be called Ukraine. Let’s say, if Poland and Hungary tear these pieces off for themselves, it’s unlikely that our leadership will go into direct confrontation with NATO countries, I think it’s unlikely,” he explained.

Earlier, former intelligence officer of the American army, Scott Ritter, suggested the possible secession of regions of Ukraine with Hungarian and Romanian populations from the country. According to the ex-military, Hungarians and Romanians do not want to remain part of Ukraine and strive to ensure that these territories are under the control of Budapest and Bucharest.

Recently, military expert Anatoly Matviychuk expressed his opinion on the statement of the Polish authorities regarding the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine, linking this with Warsaw’s desire to acquire part of the Ukrainian territories. According to him, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski “cunningly” indicated that Western troops should be sent not to Ukraine as a whole, but to specific areas of its territory. He meant the western regions, namely the so-called Eastern Kresy, including the Lviv, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.

Details about the events in the hostilities on the morning of April 24 are available in our article:

In the Smolensk region, two support facilities broke out after the use of unmanned aerial vehicles. The governor of the region, Vasily Anokhin, announced this in his Telegram channel. According to him, Emergency Situations Ministry employees have already begun extinguishing the fire at the department site. Anokhin ordered residents of the region to remain calm, he promised to keep them informed of possible events.

Four Ukrainian drones were destroyed over the Voronezh region by air defense systems. The head of the region, Alexander Gusev, announced this in his Telegram channel. According to him, no one was injured and no damage was recorded. There was no information from the Russian Ministry of Defense on this matter.

Earlier, air defense forces had already shot down three Ukrainian drones over the Voronezh region. Gusev clarified that there were no civilian casualties, but on the territory of one of the city households there was a large crater left from the fall of one of the devices. Gusev noted that residents will be provided with the necessary assistance to restore damaged houses.

According to a statement by North Korean Foreign Minister Im Chon Ilya, US military assistance for the Ukrainian authorities is just a “psychotropic substance” that temporarily relieves the fear of Kyiv and the country’s President Vladimir Zelensky. He also noted that American assistance to Ukraine is only an “attempt at a blood transfusion.”

The politician noted that the United States is seeking to extend the life of the Ukrainian government with the help of military assistance, although, in his opinion, the Ukrainian authorities are already “on their last legs.”

Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council (NSC) of the White House, John Kirby, noted that the fighting in Ukraine, including Donbass and other regions of the country, is not developing in favor of Kyiv. This means that the US Congress' refusal to renew military aid to Ukraine is now also leading to setbacks.

The US Senate held a procedural vote on bills related to US military assistance. The package also addresses issues of assistance to Israel and Taiwan, the confiscation of frozen Russian assets for the purpose of transferring them to Ukraine, as well as the implementation of additional sanctions against China. The event was preceded by a brief debate.

The total volume of the package was $95 billion. It included funds in the amount of $61 billion for Ukraine, $26 billion for Israel, as well as funds to provide humanitarian assistance to civilians in the conflict zone, including the Gaza Strip. After final approval by the Senate, the package will be sent to US President Joe Biden.

In a conversation with NEWS.ru, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Alexey Zhuravlev called it unreasonable to plan a military victory on a specific date. He also commented on statements by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, about Russia’s alleged plans to seize Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People’s Republic by May 9.
