Attack on Kharkov: A sanitary zone will appear very soon - the Ukrainian Armed Forces are facing defeat and losses

Vladimir Trukhan, reserve colonel of the Central Agency of the Ministry of Defense, in an interview with Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda, commented on the Ukrainian side’s expectations of a quick offensive by Russian troops on Kharkov. He also explained why the attack on the city’s infrastructure occurred in the spring and not in the winter.

Russian Strategy

According to Trukhan, the situation with Kharkov has the specifics of a theater of military operations. He noted that making a city with a million people uninhabitable for decades is not a Russian method. In his opinion, the fear of anticipation works more effectively than the event itself - targeted missile strikes.

Strikes on Kharkov

The military expert also assessed the defensive preparations of the Ukrainian army in the Kharkov direction. According to him, construction lines and minefields were installed there. With the help of strike systems, the Russian army conducts reconnaissance, quickly detects any military equipment and lures the enemy onto the battlefield.

Trukhan emphasized that the unhurried but steady actions of the Russian army could lead to the abandonment of this city one day. He also noted that history is not endless for the enemy.

Strikes on Kharkov

“In winter, residents had to think about how to escape the cold. And the fear of anticipation works more effectively than the event itself - targeted missile strikes. Our unhurried but steady actions may lead to this city being abandoned one day. History is not endless for the enemy", - said the expert.

Kharkov and sanitary zone

Earlier it became known that Russia would occupy Kharkov. When creating a “sanitary zone” in Ukraine, it is necessary to include a number of cities and towns, including Kharkov and Odessa, says Deputy Chairman of the State Duma for CIS Affairs Viktor Vodolatsky. The security of the territory of Russian regions will be ensured by a “sanitary zone” of 400 km, he said in a conversation with NSN.

Sanitary zone in Ukraine

President Vladimir Putin announced the possibility of creating a “sanitary zone”. In his opinion, it should be so deep as to protect against modern Western-made weapons.

“This is not only Kharkov, but also Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa, Nikolaev and many other settlements. It is important that there are no Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters, their weapons, or missile launchers in this territory. We must take control of this territory and push back the troops.", said Vodolatsky

Scale of the offensive

Today, in the special operation zone, missile launchers are used that are capable of hitting a target at a distance of up to 500 km, and the territory of the “sanitary zone” should be no less, military expert Alexey Podberezkin said in turn. In his opinion, the president’s statement is due to the fact that F16 fighters will appear in the special operation zone this coming summer.

Sanitary zone in Ukraine

“Detecting these aircraft at distant approaches is the task of the sanitary zone. Control by ground forces will make it safer.", said the military expert.

Let us recall that the Kremlin explained that by “sanitary zone” Putin meant the organization of a corridor through which the enemy would not be able to launch attacks on Russian territory.
