China imposed sanctions against Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin

In the latest news from China, it became known about the imposition of sanctions against large American aerospace and defense corporations Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin. The reason for this decision is related to their participation in arms supplies to Taiwan.

A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially stated: "The United States should respect our position on the issue of a united China by ceasing military contacts and arms supplies to Taiwan. If this does not happen, China will be forced to take decisive action."

It is interesting to note that this is not the first time that China has imposed sanctions on US companies for supplying weapons to Taiwan. But questions arise about the practicality of such sanctions, given that the corporations in question do not deal with mainland China to sell military or space technology.

However, the decision to impose sanctions speaks to deeper problems in the US-China relationship. Despite a series of high-level meetings this summer involving high-profile figures such as Blinken, Yellen, Musk and Gates, no progress has been made in improving diplomatic relations.

Further evidence of the tension between the two countries was the absence of Chinese President Xi Jinping at the latest G20 summit. Despite the expectations and attempts of the American side to offer attractive conditions for his participation, Xi Jinping decided to skip the event.

Overall, the current situation is an indication that diplomatic relations between the world's two largest powers continue to remain tense. This also shows China’s support for Russia in the issue with Ukraine. This could have long-term consequences for global politics and economics, and both sides appear to be preparing for long and difficult negotiations in the future.
