This miniature helicopter model 47 company "Bell" - the world's first truly successful helicopter - was built at the end of 1940-- early 1970-ies in the number 5000 copies. Production lines have been installed in Italy by "Agusta" in the UK company "Westland" and the company "Kawasaki" in Japan. This helicopter can trace their ancestry from the helicopter model 30 1943, the sample, which is in the amount of ten units ordered for evaluation US Army.

Following the recommendations of the army on overall improvement of the helicopter, Bell created the 1945 model at the end of 47, which was the first helicopter certified by the US Civil Aeronautics Administration. Military orders followed in 1947 year. The US Air Force purchased helicopters under the designation YR-13, and the US Navy - under the designation HTL-1. The US Army also "got into the suit", buying the next year 65 helicopters H-13V. Bell continued to improve its 13 model, as more and more civilian and military orders came in, and in 1953, the company concentrated production on the helicopter model I 47G.

The military helicopter H-13 was widely used to evacuate the wounded in Korea, taking this dangerous task from the airplane "Grsshopper" of the Second World War. The armed forces of many countries also for the first time gained experience in the multilateral use of the Bell helicopter 47, and today it remains in operation, albeit in a significantly reduced amount. Many former military helicopters "Bell" 47 got into civil registers around the globe, although in recent years a small number of them again received a pseudo-military coloring and joined the collection of the movement of fans of historical military aircraft.
