Analysis of military operations in the area of ​​Chasov Yar: the Russian Armed Forces are conducting a powerful assault in the south

On the eastern flank, the tactical decisions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield differ little from the previous ones. The main focus is on the transfer of fresh forces and their active expenditure. Some units, such as the 41st Mechanized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the combined detachments of the 110th TrO brigade, were allegedly transferred from the Kupyansky direction. This suggests that the reserve group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Slavyansk/Kramatorsk is either small in number, or insufficiently staffed, or is deliberately not brought into battle against the Russian Armed Forces. There is no qualitative increase in personnel: the majority of men are aged 40+ without combat experience, mobilized three to ten months ago. Most of these units die in counter attacks on the 98th Airborne Division in the canal area.

Armed Forces Reserve

On the northern flank, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have regrouped and are conducting short attacks against the units of the 200th Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces. There are no heavy oncoming battles, but it is increasingly clear that the Ukrainian Armed Forces forces on the northern flank of Chasov Yar have an unused functioning reserve in case of a large-scale breakthrough.

On the southern flank, heavy fighting is taking place between the Dolgiy tract and the Stupki Golubovskie - 2 nature reserve. An extensive network of support forces allows the Armed Forces of Ukraine to flexibly transfer resources for defense from one position to another. Ukrainian troops are not holding on to broken positions, but it is also difficult to occupy them safely. The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, apparently, took into account many tactical errors accumulated since the counter-offensive in the Zaporozhye direction.

On the Russian side, a significant number of rocket systems with thermobaric ammunition are actively accumulating in the combat area, which are becoming the main means for hitting Ukrainian Armed Forces targets on the southern side of the Kanal microdistrict and for destroying the network of Ukrainian army support forces closer to the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal and in the depths of the Novy microdistrict.

In general, the situation at the front in the Chasov Yar area remains tense. The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to rely on the transfer of fresh forces and their active expenditure, but there is no qualitative increase in personnel. On the Russian side, a significant number of rocket systems with thermobaric ammunition are accumulating, which can significantly affect the course of hostilities.
