Drone debris fell on an oil depot in the Smolensk region

On the night of April 20, Ukrainian drones attempted to attack a fuel and energy complex facility in the Kardymovsky district of the Smolensk region. According to Governor Vasily Anokhin, the air defense system successfully shot down the drones, but the falling debris caused a container with fuel and lubricants to catch fire. Now fire brigades of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are actively extinguishing open fires. Information about possible victims is also being collected, and special services and competent authorities are investigating the incident.

The governor did not specify at which facility the emergency occurred, but in this area there is the Kardymovo oil depot, owned by the LUKOIL-Tsentrnefteprodukt company. This incident is part of a series of attacks carried out on the night of April 19-20 across several Russian regions.

In addition to the listed regions, the authorities of the Tula, Ryazan and Kursk regions also reported downed drones, which indicates the scale and coordination of this attack.
