Russian military shot down and intercepted 50 Ukrainian drones overnight

Over the past night, Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 50 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones that violated the airspace of eight Russian regions. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The largest number of drones, 26, were shot down over the Belgorod region. Ten devices were shot down in the Bryansk region, eight in the Kursk region, and two in the Tula region. One UAV was destroyed in the Smolensk, Moscow, Kaluga and Ryazan regions.

The situation became especially acute in the Smolensk region, where one of the drones tried to attack a fuel and economic complex facility in the Kardymovsky district. As a result of falling debris, a container with fuel and lubricants caught fire. The regional governor, Vasily Anokhin, reported the incident, but did not specify the exact location of the object. It is known that the Kardymovo oil depot, owned by the LUKOIL-Tsentrnefteprodukt company, is located in this area.

In the Bryansk region, a drone crash also caused a fire at an energy infrastructure facility, and in the Kaluga region, a drone exploded near an electrical substation, which also caused significant damage.
