The project was developed in conjunction with a complex of "Swift" and embodies all the experience of previous work.

The first UAV flight of the complex took place in December 70. Two years later, state joint trials began, which ended in success in 1976. Long before the completion of state tests, in 73, a decision was made on the serial production of the drone. Officially, the VR-3 "Reis" was adopted by the Soviet Army in 1982. And after seven years, serial production ended. For all the time, the OKB produced 950 copies of reconnaissance systems.

The Tu-143 is represented as an all-metal monoplane with a triangular low-lying wing of a small elongation. In front of the fuselage of the drone is fixed immovable destabilizer in a form resembling a triangle. It provides, you need a margin of stability for flight flight regimes, and a triangular wing with an 58 and degree sweep along the leading edge has a small backward sweep. The fuselage of the round section goes into the oval just in the area of ​​installation of the marching turbojet engine. In addition, the complex monitors the position of the radiation situation at the flight rate under conditions of medium cloudiness. The UAV is quite secretive and capable of taking off and landing on unprepared runways.

Also, with the additional conditions the modernization of BP-3 «Flight" can increase its own depth of penetration into enemy territory to 80 km wide band (10 altitude) with staffing UAV photographic and television means intelligence. To prepare for the launch complex drone needed 15 minutes to restart - 4 hours. Nowadays complex UAV Tu-143 is in service with Russia and Ukraine.
