The first development aircraft family Socata Rallye began in 1957 year, with French aircraft manufacturers tried to create not only a popular vehicle that would create a good competition to the aircraft of other aircraft manufacturers, but also a multi-purpose aircraft, suitable for both passenger traffic and for other purposes .

Socata Rallye MS.880 is the base of light-production version of the aircraft of this family. His first flight of the aircraft is performed in 1959 year, however, because of the need to improve the design and number of flight performance in mass production of the aircraft it received only 1961 year.

The basic production model Socata Rallye MS.880 was a two-seater aircraft operated primarily by private owners and also as a training aircraft for future pilots. The aircraft was equipped with one Continental O-200 piston engine (100 hp) and could reach speeds of up to 170 km / h.

One of the drawbacks of this aircraft was a poor maneuverability, not allowing sharply change course, or else perform any aerobatic stunts, which, incidentally, did not prevent the aircraft to reach a certain popularity among the owners.

In place of the basic version of the model came Socata Rallye MS.881, distinctive feature of which is the new piston engine Potez capacity 105 hp, which naturally affected the flight performance of the aircraft. Yet, for all the time production was built only 12 aircraft of this version.

Model Socata Rallye MS.882 actually no different from the previous version in terms of its appearance, however, through the use of more reliable power plant presented four-cylinder Lycoming piston power in 115 hp, the aircraft became more resistant to overloads, increased its maximum airspeed, and was extended operational period.

On January 1, 1961, the Socata Rallye MS.885 Super Rallye version made its first flight, which, unlike previous models, became a three-seater, which to a much greater extent satisfied the needs of the owners. Among other things, the fuselage of the aircraft was somewhat strengthened, and the Continental O-300 engine, with a capacity of 145 hp, was used as a power plant.

Version Socata Rallye MS.886 Lycoming engine had a capacity of 150 hp, however, due to the lack of demand and greatly increased the price of the aircraft, it was built only three copies of this modification.

Quadruple modification Socata Rallye MS.890 Rallye Commodore had an engine capacity in 145 hp, but was originally built only 8 aircraft, with the main reason for the cessation of production of this model is based on the technical shortcomings in the design of the aircraft - maximum take-off weight of the aircraft is not It was designed to lift a person and 4 flight at maximum speed.

Models Socata Rallye MS.892 Rallye Commodore 150, Socata Rallye MS.892 Rallye Commodore 180 and Socata Rallye MS.894 Rallye Minerva were entirely based on 4-local modifications, at the same time, the main difference between them is the powerful engines that allow to develop traction in 150 , 180 and 220 hp respectively.

Model Socata Rallye 100 has received the engine Continental O-200 100 hp capacity, and primarily marketed as a training aircraft for the education and training of future pilots. Unlike the basic version of this family of aircraft, the current model has become much more maneuverable and controllable.

Modification Socata Rallye 125 different from the previous model only the presence of a more powerful engine (125 hp), which is actually observed and version Socata Rallye 235, but there was present a much more powerful powerplant develops 235 hp, allowing the plane accelerate to speed in 315 km \ h.

Small-engine aircraft Socata Galopin is a modification of an upgraded model Rallye 100 - are used in engine capacity 110 hp, which is why the plane was known not only as Socata Rallye 110.

Socata Garnement - an upgraded version of Socata Rallye 150, equipped with an engine capacity in 155 hp, more reliable and easier to plan maintenance.

Model Socata Gaucho is a special version of the agricultural aircraft designed to carry only one person.

Modifications Socata Gailard, Socata Galerien, Socata Gabier are blynbxyst each other small-engine version of the plane. Replace due to a number of minor changes to the model Socata Rallye 150 \ 180 \ 235.

Among other things, the family of aircraft Socata Rallye also issued a special license for the territory of Poland.

  • PZL-110 Koliber - analogue Socata Rallye 100, the engine Franklin 4A-235 116 capacity hp .;
  • PZL-110 Koliber 150 - analog of the Socata Rallye 150;
  • PZL-110 Koliber 160;
  • PZL-110 Koliber 235 - analog of the Socata Rallye 235.

All the production was built more than 3300 airplanes, of which at present in operation is still about 2500 aircraft.
