The lubrication system of the helicopter gearboxes
The lubrication system brings oil to all rubbing parts gear - gear wheels, bearing supports, spline joints - to reduce friction and effective cooling components (4.3.3).
The oil supply to all points requiring lubrication and cooling is provided by gear pumps with a given performance and a special extensive system of canals. Expiration of oil going through calibrated (on consumption) and tightly focused in the space of a nozzle or nozzles.
On the other hand, the heated oil is collected in a sump, needs intensive cooling is carried out by forced circulation of air-oil cooler. The relatively simple gear (such as intermediate and tail) is used splash lubrication or lubrication bubble. Cooling occurs as a result of heat exchange between the oil and the walls of the housing, which may have special cooling fins.
