Kestrel Mk.II is an unmanned target aircraft developed by the Emirates company Remote Piloted Systems (RPS). The beginning of work on the creation of this UAV is dated 1991. The purpose of Kestrel is to use it as a target for anti-aircraft missile systems and antiaircraft artillery. Especially for these tasks, the UAV was equipped with IR traps and a smoke device. The target is controlled from the ground by radio. The launcher includes a container with 5 targets, a fuel tank and a catapult installed on top of the container. Power plant - two-stroke reciprocating engine with power of 4,4 hp In 1995, Kestrel Mk.II completed the test program in the Persian Gulf countries. On its basis, UAVs of increased sizes are being built to carry out reconnaissance missions.
