Maintenance of combat reconnaissance aviation operation

  • 1. Scouts near and far generally operate alone. The scouts cross the front at high altitudes (5 - 000 km) using clouds, airways (over passive areas). Battlefield observation aircraft make short flights to enemy locations and immediately return.

  • 2. In the event of strong enemy resistance, which impedes the work of single aircraft, reconnaissance aircraft can carry out their tasks, acting in groups based on the principle of force (in units and squadrons). At the same time, as already indicated, the reconnaissance task is performed by one aircraft, and the rest are guarding and escorting it. A squadron link crosses the front in the same way as single aircraft.

  • 3. In the presence of fighter aircraft, special support is created for the entry or exit of scouts into the enemy's location, the area of entry and exit and the reconnaissance area by direct escort (by no means flying in the same formation) or escort on the most dangerous section of the route, after which the scouts, going in a link, can disperse and carry out their tasks on their own, or, finally, by blocking the airfield of enemy fighter aircraft.

Actions fighter aircraft, providing the performance of our aircraft over the battlefield, will be reduced mainly to patrol.

Special provision requires planes battlefield surveillance aircraft and artillery.

Aircraft observation of the battlefield operate at altitudes 600- 1 200 m, aircraft artillery - at altitudes 2 000-2 500 km.

Work observation aircraft provided by a group of fighters (at least two, one of which is fighting with enemy fighters, and the other being a reserve in the air, does not permit the work of the military and combat enemy aircraft), protecting them from excess on 500 meters above them and, In addition, of all fighters pinned down the enemy fighters. On the ground (near the front) may be a reserve fighter, departing when the enemy starts to besiege our aircraft or when it is necessary to achieve a decisive superiority in the air.
