McDonnell TD2D Katydid - US military drone aircraft designed in the mid-40-ies of the company «McDonnell Aircraft».

The design of the military unmanned aerial vehicle model McDonnell TD2D Katydid was deployed by American experts in the field of aircraft construction at the beginning of the 40-ies. The new device was intended for use as an air target, used primarily for training military personnel to combat air targets, as well as for testing modern air defense systems. Despite the rather narrow scope of this unmanned vehicle, drone proved to be very popular, and its operation was conducted until the beginning of the 60-ies, however, due to the secrecy of this project, the exact number of devices produced was not officially publicized.
