Let L 410 «Turbolet» - devyatnadtsatimestny versatile twin-engine aircraft for regional airlines. Plane with reduced takeoff and landing characteristics (OHR title L410 UVPE20 Russian acronym meaning "short takeoff and landing") developed by the design bureau Let the plant. Intended for use on grass, ground, snow unprepared sites and in airports with short runways. Produced to date in the Czech plant Let. Other names: Turbolet, years, L410, L410 years, conversational - Elka, Cheburashka.

The history of the production and creation

The design of the aircraft began in 1966 year. For the first time, an experienced aircraft equipped with the Pratt & Whitney PT6A27 (2x715l.s.) Aircraft was tested by 16.04.1969. Regular use of aircraft Л410A was opened by the Czechoslovak air company "Slov Eyre" (Bratislava), which serviced local aviation lines, the first at the end of 1971, by the beginning of 1974, she purchased twelve airplanes. Total built 31 aircraft. 5 aircraft (number 72010306 and number 720201) L410 with the engines RT6A27, built under the name L410AS to 1972 year, were transferred to the Soviet Union in 1973. The planes received registration Soviet numbers of the USSR67251 - USSR67255. The first of them was brought to the airfield by Frantisek Svinka, a Czech test pilot. The airfield people immediately called the pretty plane Cheburashka.

In 1973 year started, flight inspection aircraft L410M, equipped with a Czech theater Walter M601A. L410M became the second batch variation "Turboleta." By the end of 1978 for the Ministry of Civil Aviation of the Soviet Union came a hundred planes L410M / MU.

In 1979, the production of the improved modification L410UVP started, which became the main serial model. This aircraft from the previous versions was distinguished by a longer fuselage, larger sizes of vertical tail and wing, using interceptors and TVD Walter M601V (2x730 hp). This aircraft was certified in the USSR and was taken into use by Aeroflot. Further development was the option L410UVPE with more powerful TVDM601. The first flight of such an aircraft took place 30.12.1984. It has improved take-off and landing characteristics and a reduced noise level in the cabin. In 1986 certified in the Soviet Union. A modification of L420 with powerful TVDM601 ° F (2x778l.s.), A larger take-off mass (6,8t) and improved flight properties was developed (flight tests of the aircraft started in 1993 year).

By the early 1992, the Soviet Union remained 750 L410 aircraft.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union and CMEA in 1990-ies, he dropped the demand for aircraft L410, and the pace of production fell by more than ten times (from 50 aircraft per year to two to five). The situation has improved significantly since 2008 years 51 when the percentage of shares Let Kunovice (Aircraft Industries) bought the Russian society "Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company." The rate of release in 2010-2012 years amounted to eight to ten aircraft per year. Plans to increase the annual rate of construction to 16-18 aircraft.

In 2013 year modifies L410 UVPE20, equipped with analogue or digital avionics (choice) system, TCAS, autopilot. L410 UVPE20 a type certificate ARMAK.

JSC "Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company" in September 2013 years 49 purchased percent of the company LetKunovice (Aircraft Industries). UMMC thus became the sole owner of the Aircraft Indistries, bringing the stake to 100 percent.
