A type: Single-engine jet fighter-bomber, fighter and reconnaissance aircraft uchebnotrenirovochny advanced Double

CrewOne pilot / two pilots, arranged side by side on a double training aircraft

The most successful of the postwar British fighters, the Hunter (Hunter), has gained popularity both in the export market and in the Royal Air Force. Built according to the Technical Requirements of F.4 / 48, this jet aircraft could reach supersonic speeds in a shallow dive and was as maneuverable as any other jet fighter of that period. The first 139 serial aircraft modification F 1 were transferred to the Command of Fighter Aviation in the middle of 1953, followed in the same year by 45 improved F 2 aircraft (with Sampire engines of the company Amstrong Siddly).

These early Hunter airplanes were distinguished by unreliable engines, especially when firing from Aden guns, but the problems of getting gas into the air intake were overcome on the modifications of F 4 (365 copies were built), F 5 (built 105 copies) and F 6 (383 built) Copy). The power of the Evon jet engines (and Sapphire on the F 5 version) has been steadily increasing with each new version, and by the time the FGA 9 modification was created for ground targets, the 207 Evons engine from Rolls -Royce »already had thrust 45,12 kN. In addition, aerodynamics was improved by the appearance of a wing with an enlarged chord and a "canine" shoulder at the front edge, beginning with the modification of F 6 on the aircraft.

More radical was the modification of T 7 - training aircraft, based at F4. The first of these planes flew in October 1957 years. Last, 1985-th aircraft "Hunter" was assembled in 1966 year. Also sent to the export 429 new aircraft "Hunter" more 700 copies updated and delivered to the Air Force in seventeen countries around the globe. In 1988, the very small number of them remained on active service in Zimbabwe.
