The main objective of the activity is the production of aircraft gas turbine engines of the AL-31F type for military aircraft of the AIC "Sukhoi" (Su-30, Su-27, Su-33). At the Zaporozhye enterprise "Motor-Sich" produces engines for combat training aircraft Yak-130 -Au-222-25, short-haul aircraft for passenger Tu-334 и An-148, Amphibious aircraft Be-200 - D-436T and cargo aircraft AN-70 - A-27.

The enterprise is also engaged in the development of ground gas turbine construction - the production and development of ground industrial gas turbine units (GTU), the central part of which is the AL-21 engines, taken out of service and production. These gas turbines generate electricity and heat, and their capacity makes it possible to use them for one hundred percent power supply of a small village or one microdistrict of a city.

GTUs with a capacity of up to 20 megawatts are currently successfully operating in the village of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Yamburg, GTUs with a capacity of 60 megawatts are currently being tested in the city of Moscow on the Korovinskoye Highway at CHPP-28. The company is actively lead the design and manufacture of aircraft engine for the "fifth generation" fighter. Developments on engines M2 / M1 / M3 be used in the design of the engine of the fifth generation. The Salyut Design Bureau has resolved many issues: the combustion chamber, low pressure compressor, all-aspect nozzle with thrust vector control, high-pressure turbine.
